Blended Learning as an Innovative Approach to Strengthen the Indian Education System

Over 250 million students. That's the scale India's education system is working at, and it's why the country can't just pick between access and quality — it needs both, at the same time, which is a lot harder than it sounds. Classroom-only teaching keeps hitting the same walls: not enough buildings, not enough teachers per student, big regional gaps, and a curriculum culture that still rewards memorizing over understanding.
Blended learning is one way through this. It mixes digital instruction, live and self-paced, with actual classroom time. This paper looks at what that means against NEP 2020, goes through the main models being used, checks in on DIKSHA, SWAYAM and PM eVIDYA, and lays out where the real obstacles are and what a national rollout would actually need.
